'Blended'
Our 'Blended' congregation worships together 10am Sunday mornings at 81 High Street, Preston.
The congregation is a warm and welcoming group of people deepening our relationship with God, learning more about following Jesus and encouraging one another in their daily lives. The worship service of just over an hour includes singing, prayers, bible readings, preaching, celebrating communion, and then sharing over a hot cuppa afterwards. The service is also occasionally blessed with guest speakers. Last year LBen Chong, Darren Cronshaw and John Gilmore came and visited us.
During school terms there is also a specific worship and learning environment for children we call 'Little Pebbles' for preschoolers and 'Kids on the Rock' for primary aged kids, run by trained and responsible leaders.
'Blended' was one of the two original congregations at Northern Community Church of Christ, so has been meeting since the end of 1999. The name refers to our intention to blend the styles of the four separate congregations who joined to form it, to balance elements of both traditional worship and contemporary worship such as choice of songs, and to include people aged from 9 days to over 90 years. We also refer to it as 'formal' worship since we follow structures that we have found help order the service, but there is still plenty of vitality and moments of fun.
